Overview
The Talking Robot Face app gives the Choitek Megamark robot a highly customizable personality with an animated 3D robot face. Built in Unity, the app runs on a screen mounted to the robot and provides a rich set of visual and interactive features to bring the robot to life.
Features
3D Robot Face & Skybox
- Choose from 9 unique 3D robotic face avatars via dropdown (upper left)
- Choose from 6 starry galaxy sky backgrounds
- Full color customization — Color A (primary), Color B (secondary), Color C (eye color) — unlimited combinations
Computer Vision Webcam Face Tracking
- Select any connected webcam from a dropdown menu
- Real-time OpenCV face detection causes the robot’s face avatar to look at whoever it sees
- Toggle the live camera feed on/off with Show/Hide Camera
Real-Time Text-to-Speech
- Type into the TTS input box — press Enter to have the robot vocalize your text
- Speech is visualized with a green waveform showing frequency and amplitude of generated audio
- Supports multiple TTS voices if available on the system
